Fall 20/20

I don’t know about you, but when the fall arrives, I seem to change my listening habits directly to more mellow music. Something about the weather changing perhaps? Maybe it’s the pace of life slowing down as outdoor activities move inside?

This year, especially, was a difficult fall. It was a cocktail of all the wrong ingredients at once. Covid restrictions were in flux, both of my grandfathers died, and time seemed to move at a sluggish pace.

The day after my first grandfather died, I made this playlist. I didn’t really have much in mind going into it. But unintentionally, some songs about death and funerals emerged.

I wouldn’t say this playlist was made as a coping mechanism. But more of just me capturing a vibe I had rolling around in my head. In a way, this is just what I consider the soundtrack for the fall of 2020 here in the midwest.
